MUST radio, viz Mumbai University Students Transmission is the community radio of the University of Mumbai which can be heard on 107.8 MHz FM. It was inagurated on the 29th of Feb 2008 at the hands of her excellecny the President of India Smt. Pratibha Patil. It is the sincere endeavor of the University of Mumbai to serve the community via Must Radio. Our broadcast times are 8am to 9 pm. The community radio serves as a meaningful radio for all those who want to know more about the university, its activities and also gives a great platform for the creative juices of all the students.
It serves as a platform to provide vital information to all the people regarding education, public health , women empowerment and socially relevant issues in an entertaining manner. The radio plans to cater to the 20 lakh students of the university and all the affiliated colleges. The radio station is situated on the Kalina Campus, 3rd floor , Ranade Bhavan. It has very good recording and broadcasting facilities which provide a very good learning platform for all the students who actually run the radio station. Must radio is for the university, all the affiliated colleges and schools. We also plan to tie up with various NGO's and use the radio waves to reach the community and create general awareness of social issues with their active participation. Being a community radio, MUST radio can be heard in an area of about 10km in all directions from Kalina. Our operating areas are Goregoan-Andheri, Vikroli- Ghatkopar, Chembur-Wadala, Dadar-Bandra, Khar, Santacruz, Parle, Versova. Our progamming is in English , Hindi as well as Marathi with multilingual promos of our radio station. We also encourage songs and music from students which are played reguarly. The radio jockey's are students and we have a very student/ youth specific programming. Also we will be tying up with all the schools and colleges within our broadcast area to increase the awareness and participation.
